Weald Rotary had a stall at last weekend’s Maidstone River Festival. We were part of the Community Showcase in the gardens of the Archbishops’ Palace. All four clubs of the Rotary in Maidstone group were together with games and entertainment, and spreading the news about Rotary. Weald had our buzzwire game, Dawn Patrol had a pirate-themed treasure map and a ‘bear in a bag’ tombola, Riverside had a Wheel of Fortune and Maidstone had a Hook a Duck game.
The buzzwire game attracted a lot of attention and was a definite challenge, with only 7 clear rounds in the 7 hours we were there. Rather more managed with only a single-digit number of ‘touches’, including the Mayor, Cllr. Brian Clark who scored 2.
