Yesterday evening (12 September) the club were informed and entertained by four scouts, of Weald Scout District, who had received financial support from the Mike Collingwood Memorial Fund to attend the World Scout Jamboree.
William, Isa, Isabelle and Caitlin demonstrated the resilience gained from their training by turning their trip into a positive experience, despite the problems encountered.
Mike Collingwood Memorial Fund was established in memory of the commitment to young people of Mike Collingwood, first President of the Rotary Club of the Weald of Kent. The fund provides grants or equipment to help young people undertaking educational and personal challenges both at home and overseas.
