This weekend Rotary were out as part of the Big Help Out for the volunteering day of the King’s Coronation.
In Headcorn 18 people came for our Rotary litter pick, including Petra from Germany who was passing through Headcorn and staying at a B&B. As anticipated we collected many bags of rubbish. We also retrieved a broken wheelchair from a water culvert, an abandoned microwave and a gas bottle of Nitrous Oxide. An excellent two hours work from all concerned.
In Lenham Neil, Chas, Jan, Teresa and Eleanor joined a team of locals helping Lenham Meadows Trust cutting back nettles to clear the way for hedging, picking litter and building bug and lizard hotels to promote the local wildlife. In just a couple of hours there was a very visible transformation.
Thank you to everyone who took part
