Spring Art Exhibition 2010
The annual Art and Craft show held each year at Sutton Valence School has once again been successfully held over the weekend of 27/28 March.
This was another record year for the exhibition as far as exhibiting artist and work entries. The number of artists rose to a total of 103, showing 479 framed and 83 unframed works along with 8 Craft entries displaying a selection of ceramics, decorated glassware, jewellery and soft goods
The artists came from all over Kent, the south coast, the Medway Towns and from all over the Weald. With a steady flow of visitors throughout the two days, sales, despite the economic climate, will be very close to previous years.
This will enable the club to maintain the charitable giving over the coming year. As in previous years one of the charities that this event supports is Rotary’s own charity, The Shelter Box Foundation, formed to bring help and relief to disaster areas throughout the world, which has had many calls on its service in 2009/2010-Haiti in particular.
Next year’s exhibition will be held at the same venue with the exact date to be advised. Entry forms will be available on this web site later this year, or, if you wish to go on our mailing list, please phone: Derek Peneycad 0n 01580 892338 for all details. Entry forms will be sent out in early January 2011.
