Concert 18th June 2011

June 18th turned out to be cloudy, with a chilly wind and heavy showers. Not ideal weather for our planned Garden Party at Grigg Oast! Sadly, because the Bill Brake's garden looked delightful in the occasional spot of sunshine!

At 3pm the decision was made to retreat to the beautiful medieval Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul in Headcorn. Hence, the East Peckham Silver Band established themselves in the Choir, in a much different configuration than they are used to, and gave a splendid performance of mixed music, from Glen Miller to Offenbach and of course ending with much waving of Union Jacks for Land of Hope and Glory.

Nearly 200 people attended and the event raised a substantial amount for Rotary charities and Headcorn Church.

The event will take place again on June 16th 2012, this time featuring The Invicta Singers
